Companion program
Introduction
& welcome
The 2000 NSS-MIC Companion
Program is being organised in collaboration with the conference service providers
"Carte Blanche". It aims to show participants representative aspects of the
attractions of Lyon and the surrounding area: the natural beauty, architecture,
gastronomy, history and culture of one of the most famous regions of France.
The daily programme has been designed to fit in with the other social events during the
NSS and the MIC, and to allow some free time for participants to enjoy the city of Lyon,
its sights and cultural and commercial facilities. |
|
A lunch has been included every day to
ensure adequate and economical refreshment during the tours, and also to show the local
gastronomy. In addition, a light breakfast is included (coffee, tea, juices, croissants)
to allow participants to gather and socialise before the day's tour or visit.
|
All tours are subject to a
minimum participation and the detailed itinerary of each is subject to change without
prior notice. The weather in Lyon
in October can be variable, and although an "Indian Summer" is not unknown (and
we are hoping . . .), participants are advised to come equipped with umbrellas and
raincoats and "sensible" footware is advised. |
I am very much looking forward to
meeting old friends as well as many new ones in Lyon, and hope you will all enjoy your
programme.
